For over 20 years, The Founders Fund, Inc. of The Club Pelican Bay has stayed true to its mission to provide financial assistance to young men and women from Collier County in their pursuit of post high school education and training. Over 2 million dollars have been awarded to over 500 local students from 11 Collier high schools who have demonstrated both the need and the outstanding merit required to receive the scholarship award from The Fund.
The Founders Fund was created in 1991 by the Founding Golf Members of The Club Pelican Bay, a private golf club. The Internal Revenue Service has classified the Founders Fund as a 501 (c) (3) non-profit, tax-exempt charitable organization.
The Founders Fund, Inc. is supported by Golf and Social Members of The CLUB, as well as many corporate sponsors which include prominent local and national businesses. Individuals and businesses in support of the cause now have the opportunity to back Sponsored Scholars. Income from reserve assets and fundraising activities supports annual scholarship grants of approximately $200,000 per year. Since its inception, fund scholarship awards have totaled more than $2,000,000.
